According to Hitman Absolution Director Tore Blystad “only 20% of players will see the last level of the game”. This statistic a predicted using Metrics and observing gameplay behaviour. The number of hours it takes to see the game through to the end apparently makes it unlikely for players to finish and even less likely for them to play through again. This is seen as a disappointing turn as the game is “built to last” and has a predicted high replay value. Developers want to add incentives for completing the game and for replaying it.
