I haven’t played Gears of War 3 yet, but from what I have heard it seemed like it ended shit. Lambent and Locust dead, Marcus and Anya, all that. I didn’t hear anything about it being open for any kind of sequel. But then again, I thought the same thing about the ending of Halo 3 and look how that turned out.
Today, Game Informer revealed the cover for its July issue and with it announced that the issue would come with a preview of the new Gears of War game. Not much was actually revealed about the game except what we can gleam from the cover. It apparently involves a dude being arrested while a bunch of Reavers raze a city. You would think the guys in helmets, the Gears of War equivalent of a Star Trek redshirt, would be more concerned about the Reavers than the guy with the poorly lit face but whatever. More details on the new game will be revealed on Monday after Microsoft’s E3 Press Conference because – Oh, fuck. E3 is next week. Well, can’t do anything about it now.
Along with the new Gears game the July issue of Game Informer will have features on Epic’s Unreal Engine 4, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2‘s campaign, the Tomb Raider reboot, the new Skyrim DLC Dawnguard, Ex-Infinity Ward guys Jason Ward and Vince Zampella talk about their side of the legal battles that’ve been going on for a while and Robert Bowling talks about the first game from his new studio Robotoki.
