Last week was the Cannes Film Festival in France. Robert Pattinson, one of the many banes of my existence, was there with his new movie Cosmopolis. While there, he started to see reports that he was being considered for a role in the sequel to the Hunger Games, Catching Fire. Lucky for everyone, he was not.
According to rumors, he was being considered for the role of Finnick Odair, a returning champion of the Games.
“I woke up this morning and saw all these things about me being cast in The Hunger Games,” Pattinson said, “I was kind of curious for a second. So I called my agent. My agent was like, ‘No.’ (My agent) was like no one’s going to offer you that part. I was like, thanks for the reassurance.”
With that news, the internet should breath a sigh of relief. When the initial rumors starting spreading their way through the internet, fans of the books got pissed. On Thursday the hashtag #PattinsonisnotFinnick was trending on Twitter.
