Diablo 3’s Popularity Causes Server Overload

So the long awaited Diablo 3 released today and at midnight the servers were instantly flooded with gamers trying to get into the game and start clicking away. Seeing Diablo 3 requires players to be online to play the game (even if playing solo) many people were sad to find they could not connect to servers to start the game.

“Due to high concurrency the login servers are currently at full capacity. This may cause delays in the login process, account pages and web services,” a Blizzard representative said referring to the Error 37. “We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience while this is being resolved.”

There is also a message on the login screen that notes, “We’re also aware of issues affecting character creation and are working to resolve them at this time.”

I am about to jump on the game now, I do hope I can get it started.
