Netflix is the largest online-streaming corporation and as its ups and downs in the past with such actions as raising their prices and attempting to split of it’s services last year. Now it Netflix may have gone one more step too far (some might think) and have created a anti-piracy committee called FLIXPAC to support SOPA-like legislation.
During a time there, like many other companies in the same vein as Netflix that have to do with online and so on (IE: Sony, Microsoft). They were is full support of SOPA and PIPA propositions, but like so many others, they backed out due to the huge backlash from the public about the appeals.
With Netflix basically back on board with anti-piracy, they can now fund and grant support fighting online piracy. So newly founded FLIXPAC can help bring about proposed acts like Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA) to fruition, seeing that Netflix is such a major contributor to online streaming.
Netflix is a huge entertainment medium across many platforms and is very popular among us the average Joe’s in the world, but also is very influential in many industries. This will bring the end of the internet back into prospective.
