The internet is swirling with rumors and speculation from a report of a possible MMO based on Bethesda’s highly popular franchise, The Elder Scrolls. Tech site Tom’s Guide published an article, via sources, with information in regards to an MMO called The Elders Scrolls Online. An MMO based game set in the Universe of The Elder Scrolls. According to this report, Bethesda plans to announce The Elder Scrolls MMO in May 2012 to possibly generate the E3 crowd.
Also in this report, using The Elder Scrolls Wiki as a guideline, the time frame as to when the events within this living, breathing, world will take place happens a full millennium before the events of Skyrim. Further details haven’t been yet known as of this time in terms of subscriptions and pricing structures or even quests, however, various creatures were mentioned for factions: A lion, a dragon, and a bird of prey.
Although, based on Zenimaxs’ job listings, it’s really no surprise that Bethesda and Zenimax are working on an MMO set within the universe of The Elder Scrolls. Tipsters, on the other hand, need to be taken with a grain of salt as they tend to fill their news with hyperbole. However, it does make for a good news story.
