Over the years, Nicolas Cage has taken on some of the worst roles in movies and now there is a movie being made about him?
It has been reported by The Hollywood Reporter that Lionsgate has acquired the movie script Action No. 1, which was penned by both Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant (of Reno 911). The movie will be set around a group of nerdy kids that break in and steal Nicolas Cage’s prized Action Comics number 1, which is the introduction of Superman.
According to the THR, “The theft of Cage’s comic made real-world headlines in 2000. The issue was missing until 2011, when it was discovered among the contents of an abandoned storage locker. It sold for a record $2.1 million at auction in November. To comic-book fans, the story of the book’s theft and its ultimate recovery is as thrilling as any tale of a stolen Monet or Degat.”
While the film was written with the real Nicolas Cage in mind it is highly doubtful he will be in it. Although, Nick Cage is not one to pass on a movie script. With always being broke from buying such high end collector comics such as Action Comics number 1 and all, who knows?
