Just mere hours before gamers will jump onto the next Mass Relay system to explore new worlds and meet new races of extraterrestrial goodness that is Mass Effect 3, we learn that not everyone will have the luxury of jumping along with the rest of them. Not with Cloud saving that is.
Electronic Arts has stated on their support page notes that the Endgame save from Mass Effect 2 won’t be compatible with ME3 if stored onto the Cloud.
However, there’s a catch: If you’re playing Mass Effect 3 on the same console where ME2 Endgame save file was created, then you’re safe. But if you’ve stored the save data to the Cloud then it needs to be downloaded back onto the original console’s hard drive with which it was saved. From there you can transfer the data via USB thumb drive, transfer cable, or memory card onto a new 360 console.
Another method is to re-play Mass Effect 2 all over again to then transfer that data onto Mass Effect 3, but seriously, who is going to do that?
It’s not surprising when dealing with a big budget games like this there is bound to be a problems. Thankfully, it was noticed before the game was released.
