It is no real surprise that Disney will be going forward with a sequel to last year’s Muppets movie after it raked in more than $154.8 million at the worldwide box office.
James Bobin who directed the last film and Nicholas Stoller who co-wrote it are both back on board for the sequel. However it is unclear if Jason Segel, who also co-wrote the movie will return for the role, but it is pretty certain that with his many various projects (which include CBS’ How I Met Your Mother and films The Five Year Engagement and This Is 40) will not be a co-writer this time around.
