Hello My Game Is, is a London event where gamers and developers meet up, talk about video games, and eat chicken wings. I arrived at 5:58, and found that the main seating area was already completely full (having tickets was apparently meaningless). So, having to give up on my goal of getting complete video of the keynotes and move to the overflow seating in the next room. This wasn’t a huge issue as they were setting up the livestream to play in that seating area. Unfortunately when the keynotes started at 7:00 the audio wasn’t working it was soon fixed but it does mean I missed a chunk of what was being said and didn’t know the name of the speaker. The unknown speaker from Digital Extremes talked about The Darkness II. Going over the improved graphics, the awesome control system, and stressing that a lot of work had been put into the game. After that, the floor was opened to people to give five minute talks about whatever.
The event overall was a good idea, but somewhat poorly managed. Knowing the numbers in advanced I feel the organizers should have been more prepared with an A/V set-up for the overflow seating. The good part of the event was just being able to meet up with people and talk video games over a plate of delicious wings.
