Blizzard Releases First Overwatch Short, “Recall”

For a while now, people have been comparing Blizzard’s upcoming class based multiplayer shooter Overwatch with the much beloved class based multiplayer shooter Team Fortress 2. With the release of the first Overwatch animated short, Recall, that comparison is made even stronger.

While not the exact same as TF2‘s series of videos introducing the characters, Recall feels to me like a cross between those and what Blizzard does with their cutscenes. It’s more story driven, giving us a look at Winston, the ape tank, before the events of the game and in his early life. It’s a great little video with the quality of animation you expect from Blizzard. Look forward to more of these as we get closer to the game’s release date.
