Executive producer of Bethesda Game Studios and game director Todd Howard has gone on record to say that the improvements made in Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim are about as significant as Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was to Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.
During an interview Howard stated,
“The number of gameplay changes and things like that are probably on the same level,”
Also during the interview Howard was asked about the visuals and game engine upgrades he replied that there was not a technological leap as there have been in other installments.
“Hard to say… I have a hard time looking at it that way. I think it’s close. I don’t know that I would say it’s as large a leap, just because the technology gap between Morrowind and Oblivion was greater.”
Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim releases on November 11, 2011
From what you have seen of Skyrim so far, what would you say about it not being much more different from Oblivion when it comes to the changes made?
