Marvel has announced, along with all the many new titles that will be coming out after Secret Wars, a brand new ongoing Doctor Strange series, written by Jason Aaron (Thor, Weirdworld) with art by Chris Bachalo (Uncanny X-Men, Incredible Hulk). I’m sure this is in preparation for the upcoming movie coming out next year, and also as result of the big role Doctor Strange is playing during Secret Wars. Marvel editor Nick Lowe had this to say of the series…
This is a Doctor Strange who is going to get hurt real bad, real quick. And who is also going to make you feel things, and not just think things, but feel things… hopefully a little bit of both.
Needless to say if your a listener of the Comics Podcast you might have heard me mention how much of a huge fan of Jason Aaron’s work I am, so much so I pretty much would check out anything he writes at this point. Not only that but I am also a huge Doctor Strange fan and enjoy whenever he shows up in other books. I have been waiting for them to announce a new ongoing series of his own for years now. So to have one of my favourite writers in comics writing one of the more underrated and underused great Marvel characters that I love, I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am by this news. Along with Chris Bachalo on art, whose got a unique style of his own which should work great for this book, this is a must buy for me. Shown below is some of the artwork and character designs from artist Chris Bachalo.
