In a rather heartwarming story, game studio People Can Fly (developers of Bulletstorm and Gears of War: Judgment) have gotten out from under the umbrella of Epic Games after being acquired by them in 2013, and they took the Bulletstorm IP with them.

To dive into the game development process that starts in your head, through concepts and design ideas, realized in prototypes and finally in the game, to inspire each other every minute, to create and iterate, was stronger than all the benefits of being a part of Epic group.
We are lucky that Tim Sweeney as well as Epic’s board and its executive team members are fair and honest people and allowed us to reach for our dreams.
Nothing like a happy divorce, right?
In the short-term, the former Epic Games Poland studio will be completing work on Epic’s own Fortnite, but will also be working on an unannounced title of their own as well using UE4.
That means all of you nutshot aficionados may finally see that Bulletstorm sequel you’ve been clamoring for!
