In one of the weirdest things to happen on an E3 stage this year, Sony has launched a Kickstarter campaign for Shenmue 3.
During the Sony press conference, vice president of publisher & developer relations Adam Boyes invited Shenmue creator Yu Suzuki on to the stage. When he got there, the two of them counted down to the launch of the Kickstarter campaign. The campaign has a $2 million goal, and a $29 contribution nets you a copy of the game for either PC or PS4.
And in the time since the announcement of this Kickstarter and my reporting on it (I had to sleep, guys), the campaign has passed its goal. At time of writing, the campaign has raised $2,406,631.
