Fox has announced that it will be renewing its police-procedural/Batman-prequel Gotham for a second season. It’s currently uncertain whether or not Fox will be ordering a full season, but Fox CEO Dana Walden stated that the only mandate being passed on to Gotham‘s creators was to “keep doing what [they’re] doing.” As such, viewers can likely look forwards to more muddled plotting, various degrees of tonal dissonance, and female characters who are so incompetently written that the only salvation for them is the cold embrace of death. Walden also stated, optimistically, that they had seen episode 14 and that the show “just keeps getting better.”
On a related note, Fox has also renewed its OTHER police-procedural comedy, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, as well as its new show Empire.
