Ubisoft has been releasing a new main series Assassin’s Creed game every year for a while. But now they’re stepping up their game by releasing not one, but two new AC games, and within weeks of each other, too.
Assassin’s Creed Rogue was announced this week after a trailer of the game leaked online. The game will tie into the Kenway family story from AC3 and Black Flag, as well as the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Unity. Set during the Seven Years’ War, you will play as Shay Patrick Cormac, the Irishest man I’ve ever heard of, and a former Assassin turned Assassin Hunter for the Templars. That way they don’t have to develop a new combat system since your playing a Templar for the entire game now.
Like Black Flag, the game will have a big sailing component as Cormac captains the Morrigan. You will be spending your time in the Northern Atlantic, the Appalachian River Valley, New York, and Quebec.
Probably the weirdest thing about this game is the fact that it’s coming out exclusive for previous gen consoles. I can’t really think of a reason why they wouldn’t release the game on next gen consoles as well as the old ones.
Assassin’s Creed Rogue is set for release on November 11th, 2014, for the Xbox 360 and PS3.
