Last week, Mantab Entertainment and Yahoo! Japan announced the staff and principal cast for the anime adaptation of Hitoshi Iwaaki’s manga Parasyte. You know, that one where the dude’s hand turns into a giant penis.
The show, produced by Madhouse, will be directed by Kenichi Shimizu (Avengers Confidential: Black Widow & Punisher), with Shoji Yonemura (Kamen Rider Kabuto) on series composition, Tadashi Hiramatsu (His and Her Circumstances) on character designs, and Toshiyuki Komaru as chief animation director.
As for the cast, Nobunaga Shimazaki will play Shinichi Izumi, the 17-year-old protagonist who has his right hand replaced by an alien parasite he calls Migi, voiced by Aya Hirano. Kana Hanazawa will also be there, playing Shinichi’s close friend and love interest Satomi Murano.
On top of the anime, two live-action films will be released. The first part will be released in Japan on November 29th, 2014. The second part, tentatively called “The Final Chapter,” will be released sometime in 2015.
