Crytek has seemed to be in a weird place as of late, with allegedly unpaid employees and whatnot, but hopefully this latest turn is good news for the Homefront franchise, at least. Deep Silver and Crytek recently struck a deal to move production of Homefront: The Revolution under Deep’s umbrella for an undisclosed amount.
Deep Silver formed Dambuster Studios to handle the production and their CEO, Dr. Klemens Kundratitz, says they are “thrilled to see another great IP joining the Deep Silver universe, we strongly believe in the potential of Homefront: The Revolution and trust in the new team to continue the path they have been walking in the last years.”
The Homefront franchise was picked up by Crytek back during the bankruptcy auction of THQ and their assets, and work was already in progress with Crytek and Deep Silver. Hopefully this puts the game back on solid ground and they can finish strong on this follow-up to a good game who’s story has a lot of potential.
