“Wise from your gwave!” THQ is back! Well, Nordic Games is back, using their recently acquired THQ moniker to carry a little more weight back into the industry.
Nordic never really gained traction as their own studio and figure recycling the THQ name and its related social media accounts will help them get a jump start when they start releasing. It’s not a bad strategy considering they also picked up a few of their bigger IPs including MX vs ATV, Red Faction and Darksiders. Fans are already clamoring for a new Darksiders, to which the studio recommends patience as they want to take the proper time to create a worthwhile sequel.
This isn’t the first time Nordic has acquired existing IPs either. Wikipedia lists dozens of familiar names that now fall under their banner, so it’s only a matter of time until we start to see some memorable series come back from the dead as well. Hopefully the quality lives up to everyone’s expectations.
