Even though the game has only been officially out for about a month now, people have been playing Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft for almost a year. During that near-year, the main focus of the game has been on the multiplayer, with a pretty simple single player mode in there to help you learn how to play and get basic cards for your decks. Now that the game is out, though, Blizzard is adding a full single player mode.
Blizzard has announced The Curse of Naxxramas, a new expansion for Hearthstone due out this summer. Players will be able to play through five different “wings” of the dungeon, with new wings being release weekly. Each wing will feature new bosses and new cards to collect. The first wing being released is the Arachnid Quarter, and it will be the only free one. The other wings will be purchasable with in-game gold and real world money. No price was announced for the other wings.
Players will be able to earn 30 new cards by completing Naxxramas, and will be playable in all other game modes. The cards will also be added to Arena, a mode where players have to draft decks from a pool of cards instead of using pre-constructed decks, even if you haven’t completed Naxxramas.
The expansion will also add class-specific challenges, battles where players have to play with a predetermined class deck. If they win, they will get another Naxxramas card. Finally, a new Naxxramas arena will be added to the game.
No specific release date has been announced, but The Curse of Naxxramas will be coming this summer, and Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft is available now for free.
