The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan Anime in Production

One of my favorite spin-offs of just about anything ever, The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan is set in the alternate universe that Kyon visits in the Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya movie. In this universe Yuki Nagato, normally an alien with reality warping powers, is a normal high school girl and member of the Literature Club. The series is an official spinoff, written and drawn by manga artist Puyo, and it assumes the dimension hopping never happened and everybody is just a normal high school kid.

The announcement was made via an apparent error message on www.haruhi.tv which, when highlighted, directed you to the Docomo Android store, where you would find this message: “The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan anime adaptation in the works”

I, for one, am terribly excited as I have loved this manga since I came across it so long ago. Despite it’s slow release schedule, the seemingly standard high school romantic comedy has never ceased to entertain, and I will be watching like a hawk for new information about this project. Go read the manga if you haven’t already and we can anticipate this thing together.
