DC Universe Online is Getting GL DLC

Sometime this summer you will get a chance to be a Green Lantern. SOE has announced the very first DLC for DC Universe Online, “Fight for the Light”. This is not one of those free updates that have been coming to DCUO, but a full on expansion pack where you get to become a Green Lantern. The pack will run you $9.99 and is the start of SOE’s “sizeable new content” that they will be doing instead of waiting for one huge update.

The first thing to mention that comes in this pack is a new moveset – light. When you create a new character (or reset an old character) you choose the abilities and powers. Now you will be able to use power rings. Heroes get Green Lantern rings and villains get Sinestro Corps rings.

Word from SOE is that DC Comics is not too thrilled with the idea with everyone and their brother being a Lantern, so you will be a Green Lantern reservist. So you won’t get the logo and you can not create crazy things with the ring, it is more like just a power. You will still have to choose a weapon like bow, dual pistols or something.

There is more to the DLC, also. There is new armor, alerts and missions as well. Remember this is not a huge DLC pack like most MMO’s seem to do, but there should be more and more often in the future.
