Quantum Break was announced during the Xbox One reveal event last month. We didn’t get any gameplay and barely any cinematic footage. It was mostly live-action stuff that might have some connection to the game, but I doubt it. Anyway, Sam Lake from Remedy was on stage to talk about their upcoming game, and we got something.
Lake said that Quantum Break will use a new method of storytelling, which will take the decisions players make in game to create a “personalized TV show,” meaning that the choices you make in the game will affect a live-action TV show that will begin airing around the release of the game (presumably) He said that the interplay between players and the choices they make “changes your entertainment experience into a new type of storytelling.”
Now, I’m all for cross-media tie-in things like having games and shows running at the same time and impacting one another. But I think I repressed the memory of this because I don’t even remember this being announced. I only found out about this thing by going through my news feeds seeing if I missed anything important. When I saw I started having ‘Nam flashbacks to the reveal event. Please Xbox, just focus on games for a while.
