One of the really cool things with the PlayStation Plus thing is the free games users get every month or something. It’s a really great incentive to pay for the service you don’t really need to pay for. Microsoft seems to have noticed this too, as they’ve announced their own free games thing.
During their E3 press conference, Yusuf Mehdi announced that starting July 1st, Xbox Live Gold members will be getting two free games a month. The first month of the update will give users free copies of Assassin’s Creed II and Halo 3.
While I’m all for this, the thing that makes PlayStation Plus so cool is that while it does add a couple of other things, it is not mandatory. You can do plenty with the free PSN account. But with Xbox Live Gold, that is mandatory if you want to play online or chat with people or anything.
WOW! I can get 2 free games that I already own! At least it’s for 360 so I can still sell my old copies.
