Goddammit, who the fuck is playing Rocket Raccoon?
Deadline is reporting that Benicio Del Toro has joined the cast of the James Gunn directed Guardians of the Galaxy. While no specifics were given on his role, Del Toro will be playing a character who’s been made to appear in other films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Because of this, he’s signed a deal with the option to appear in multiple movies.
I am not anywhere near familiar enough with Marvel’s space stuff to guess who he’s going to be, but I like Del Toro. I think he’s a fine actor and he’s a good addition to the cast. Of course it’s not the addition anyone wants and Marvel is determined to piss everyone off by announcing characters no one cares about but whatever. I’m not bitter.
Guardians of the Galaxy is set for release on August 1st, 2014.
