William Fichtner and Abby Elliott Added to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Before getting to the actual news, I should probably mention some things that have happened with Michael Bay’s TMNT reboot thing. First, the name has been changed from Ninja Turtles to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Second, the Turtles are not aliens. Apparently they never were aliens. They’re mutated turtles. Okay, on with the news.

First up, Deadline is reporting that Prison Break alum William Fichtner is joining the cast of this ill-fated reboot. No one is sure who Fichtner will be playing, but apparently he’s “a lead with iconic stature in the Turtles’ mythology.” Based on that little tidbit, my best guesses would be Shredder, Krang, or Baxter Stockman. Can’t really see him in any of those roles, though.

Next, according to Comic Book Movie, SNL actress Abby Elliott has jumped on to the movie, as well. Her role is also unknown at this point, but some people are thinking that she will be playing Irma Langinstein, April O’Neil’s friend from the 80’s cartoon. I never watched the 80’s show, and I don’t really watch SNL, so I have no opinion on this.
