For the promotion for Activision and High Moon’s Deadpool, Deadpool himself has been promoting the game. He’s talked to us in trailers, he’s appeared at various cons, and now he’s sent out a press release for the game’s release date, price, and pre-order bonuses.
The game will be coming to PS3, Xbox 360, and PC on June 25th. It will cost you $49.99 on the consoles and $39.99 on the PC. If you are observant, then you noticed that game costs a bit less than games usually cost. I’m not entirely sure why or what this says about the quality of the game, but it’s pretty cool.
Two places have pre-order bonuses. First is Amazon, who is offering $5 credit towards select Marvel graphic novels and an exclusive wallpaper and digital cover sleeve.
Second is GameStop, who have the Merc with a Map pack which adds two maps to the challenge mode in the game, GRT Plaza and Inside the Tower. It will also come with two costumes, one based on his Uncanny X-Force costume and the other on his D-Pooly look. The costumes are only usable in the infinite mode which tracks your stats on a global leaderboard.
GameStop is also offering two more bonuses for their US stores only. The first is an exclusive wallpaper for people who are part of GameStop’s PowerUp Rewards program. Second, the store that has the most pre-orders will be getting a midnight launch with a special appearance by Deadpool himself paid for by Activision.
While it is some bullshit that the midnight launch party is only for American stores, I can understand why they decided to do that. Still, I’m looking forward to this game. It’s cool that it’s coming out for a reduced price, and I love Deadpool.
Deadpool is coming out for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC on June 25th, 2013.
