Marvelman is one of the weirder comic book characters I’ve heard of. Not because of the character, but because of his history. Starting off as your standard hero, he was turned into a dark and twisted thing by Alan Moore. Then Neil Gaiman took the reins and it’s been in legal hell forever. But salvation could come for Marvelman in the form of Axel Alonso.
The editor-in-chief of Marvel comics had an interview with Newsarama last week about the Infinity event happening in August, and right at the top Angela appearing in Age of Ultron 10 was brought up. The reasons Angela showing up in the Marvel universe would lead people to Marvelman are kinda confusing. Check out these videos if you want to know more. Anyway, with Angela appearing, Nrama asked Alonso if that means we could be seeing some Marvelman stuff soon. Alonso responded with…
There has been progress. Considerable progress. And we’ll be making an announcement soon.
I’m a huge fan of Marvelman. I’m very excited about seeing him being published by Marvel.
Yeah, I know it’s an announcement of an announcement, but I’m kind of excited by this. I’ve only read a couple of issues of Moore’s Marvelman, though I guess I should call him Miracleman for that era, but I liked it. It will be cool seeing him come back. Assuming he comes back as the dark thing and not classic Marvelman.
