I got my pre-order for this game in and I am so fucking excited to play it that I don’t even care that I have to write up a post about a roster update, the video game equivalent of a casting update.
Brandon Alexander, an employee at Warner Bros., tweeted a picture of the full Injustice: Gods Among Us character screen. The tweet has since been deleted, but the image got out on to the internet. The image, which you can see above, shows two new additions that haven’t been announced yet: Killer Frost and Ares.
Okay, Ares, I understand. He’s a long-time enemy of Wonder Woman and has been a pretty big part of her New 52 book. Plus, god of war and all that. But Killer Frost I’m a bit confused about. From what I understand about the character, which isn’t much, she’s mainly a Firestorm villain, who isn’t in this game, and hasn’t appeared since the reboot which you think would put her pretty low in the potential characters list. Maybe this means that one of the DLC characters will be Firestorm.
Anyway, with these two additions, the roster has now been rounded out to an even 24 characters, 12 heroes and 12 villains. Injustice: Gods Among Us is set for release on Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii U on April 16th.
