Last month, Marvel teamed up with comiXology to try to bring us 700 free #1 issues. The promo launched and crashed comiXology almost immediately, so no one could get the comics. They pulled the promo and said they would attempt it again. That attempt is now here.
Marvel announced yesterday that they will be attempting a second run at Marvel #1. To get the free comics, head on over to the special promo page and sign up for an account on Marvel’s site before 11:59 PM EST on April 9th. From there you will recieve an email with your “personal invite.” Then, starting on Thursday, April 11th, you will get further instructions on how to collect your comics.
I think Marvel is going to be releasing the comics to a relatively small number of people at a time over the course of a few days. That way everyone gets their comics and the comiXology servers aren’t taxed too hard and crash. Again.
So, you have until 11:59 PM EST today, April 9th, to sign up for a Marvel account and to collect your free comics. Don’t miss out on it.
