Arkham Asylum amazed everyone by being the best superhero game ever made and one of the best games of 2009. It’s follow-up, Arkham City, wasn’t as good but was still pretty awesome. Then we started getting updates about the next game, like it being set in the Silver Age of comics. Now we have a release window. It’s quite a large window, but it’s still a window.
At an earnings call last week, Time Warner chief financial and administrative officer John K. Martin broke down the company’s last year in terms of earnings from film and TV, and predicted how things would go in 2013. Time Warner is very optimistic about the second film in The Hobbit trilogy, Man of Steel, The Hangover 3, and the video games they have scheduled for release this year. Martin said…
And we also have a strong games release this year, which will include the next release in the Batman Arkham franchise. So all in all, we expect Warners to post another very strong year in 2013. And with a little luck, the year should be as good or maybe even a little bit better than 2012.
And that’s all the info he said on the new game. He didn’t even give us an idea as to when the game will be coming out. Just that it will be this year. I’m still fucking excited about it, though.
