Star Wars is FINALLY getting it’s head out of its intergalactic ass and making a goddamn Han Solo spin-off. Also Boba Fett.
Yesterday, The Walt Disney Co. let the world know that they’re planning to make probably a crazy number of spin-offs to be released with their new trilogy. Entertainment Weekly learned the details to two of the potential films.
Han Solo’s film would feature a young wisecracking smuggler and his origins, probably featuring the first meeting with Chewbacca. The other, Boba Fett’s solo film, would tell the tale of the bounty hunter’s adventure becoming the galaxy’s most famous rogue.
Since all of this is very speculative, there isn’t much news aside from heresy, so I’m going to talk about who should direct these movies.
Robert Rodriguez told MTV he’d direct a Han Solo film if it was offered to him and while I’d be super excited for that, I’d say Joss Whedon if he wasn’t busy with Avengers and the entire Marvel Universe. So I think a clever move would be Josh Trank, with his smart, new take on superhero stories with Chronicle, I’d love to see his take on a swashbuckling anti-hero.
The LITERAL only choice for a Boba Fett director is Joe Johnson, director of Captain America: The First Avenger and actual creator of Boba Fett. Like, the conversation should start and end there.
Who do you want to star in these films? Chris Pine as Han Solo? Does it even matter for Boba Fett? Leave it in comments or the forums!
