NetherRealm and WB have doing a thing to get people hyped for their upcoming DC Comics fighter, Injustice: Gods Among Us, called the Battle Arena. Basically, every week there will be two 1v1 fights posted on the Battle Arena website. People who visit the site will be able to vote on who they want to see win the fight. After a week, the results are posted along with an in-game video showing the fight and the next fights are posted. The first week saw Batman vs. Bane and Wonder Woman vs. Harley Quinn. The videos will be posted at the end of this article. With the second week, we got the new matches and a new character.
The match-ups for the second week of Battle Arena are The Joker vs. Lex Luthor and The Flash vs. the hero formerly known as Captain Marvel, Shazam. It had been leaked previously to this, but with this battle it is confirmed that the caretaker of the Rock of Eternity will be a playable character in Injustice.
Shazam was created back in 1939 and was called Captain Marvel. He was originally a kid named Billy Batson who was living on the streets after his parents died and his uncle stole his inheritance. He was taken to the wizard Shazam who gave him amazing powers and turned him into an adult. He had the wisdom of Solomon, the strength of Hercules, the stamina of Atlas, the power of Zeus, the courage of Achilles, and the speed of Mercury. He is basically a magical Superman.
I am so excited for the goddamn game. Almost everything I have seen about it has gotten me so stoked to play it. I do wish there was a wider selection of characters but for the life of me I cannot think of who else to put in the game.
But anyway, here are the results videos for week one of the Battle Arena. Injustice: Gods Among Us is set for release on the PS3, 360, and Wii U on April 16th:
