Scott Snyder’s Swamp Thing has been one of the more critically acclaimed series in the New 52 lineup. But after Snyder’s Rotworld storyline wraps up, writer Charles Soule will be taking over the title starting at issue 19.
While Soule hasn’t written a Batman storyline that everyone who cares is currently pooping themselves in collected anxiety about, he most definitely wrote creator-owned projects 27 and Strange Attractors and to start off his run on Swamp Thing, the plant-monster-man will face off against The Scarecrow!
The people at io9 talked to Soule about his upcoming run and he had this to say…
Something very cool about Swamp Thing that I think makes the book distinct from some other superhero titles is that it has a very thoroughly developed mythology that spans back to prehistoric times… Issues 19 and 20 are designed to bring Alec a little deeper into the DCU and show where he stands.
Charle Soule’s run on Swamp Thing will hit shelves and internet things this April.
