Dane DeHaan Cast as Harry Osborn in Amazing Spider-Man 2

Back in October we reported that Shailene Woodley, the pregnant chick Secret Life of the American Teenager, had been cast as Mary Jane Watson in The Amazing Spider-Man. I have no opinion on her work so whatever. Last month we reported that movie had gotten a villain in the form of Jamie Foxx as Electro. A bit of a weird casting choice but, again, whatever. Now we have another casting update, as the movie now has its Harry Osborn.

Marvel announced recently that Dane DeHaan has been cast in the role of Harry Osborn, Peter Parker’s best friend and occasional villain. Who is Dane DeHaan? He’s the main guy with the video camera from Chronicle. DeHaan is a good actor. I really liked him in Chronicle, and I think he could be good as Harry. We’ve seen he can do tortured well, and depending on how much Harry there is in this new movie we may get to see that again.

Production for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set to begin in early 2013, shooting for a release date of May 2nd, 2014
