A few days ago, Capcom held their annual Captivate press event. For those that don’t know, Captivate is Capcom’s version of Blizzcon: a venue to announce news and games from their specific IP’s. This year saw quite a few of announcements for the rest of 2011 and even early 2012. I will do my best to give what info I have obtained about the games and such announced. First up, Dead Rising 2: Off the Record. When you were playing Dead Rising 2, did you ever wonder if the game would be different if you were playing as Frank West, the protagonist from the first Dead Rising? Well, someone at Capcom did. In Off the Record, players will slip back into the shoes of the man who has covered wars as he goes through the events of DR2, only doing things a bit differently than Chuck Greene. How differently you might ask? Zombie wrestling instead of zombie chainsaw motorbikes, picture taking, new combo weapons and story events happening slightly different than how they actually happened. If this sounds appealing to you than you have a question to ask yourself: Is Dead Rising 2 worth another $60? As far as I know, this is not DLC for DR2 or a downloadable title like Case: Zero or Case: West. To my knowledge, this is a full retail release. So, do you really feel like spending $120 on Dead Rising 2?
Anyway, trailer:
While there is no hard date, Dead Rising 2: Off the Record is hitting PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC this autumn.
