Director Bryan Singer has announced on his Twitter two members to the cast of the follow up to X-Men: First Class, X-Men: Days of Future Past: Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen.
Stewart and McKellen will be reprising their roles as Professor X and Magento as well as joining James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult in the latest addition to the X-Men franchise.
Mark Millar, the creative consultant for all things Marvel at 20th Century Fox teased last month that Days of Future Past is “X-Men meets The Terminator. You’ve got robots, you’ve got time travel, you’ve got superheroes — it’s got everything in one film.”
Matthew Vaughn was originally set to helm the sequel to First Class, but abruptly and mysteriously left back in October and Singer took over. Singer is no stranger to the X-Men world as he directed X-Men back in 2000 and X2 in 2003.
X-Men: Days of Future Past is set for release July 18, 2014.
