Hugh Laurie in Talks to Play Blackbeard on NBC’s “Crossbones”

Dr. House may very well be taking up a career in piracy in the not-so-distant future(or past, if you want to look at it that way) in Luther creator Neil Cross’ new action-adventure show Crossbones. The 10 episode series would feature Laurie as the notorious British pirate Edward Teach, aka Blackbeard, in 1715 on the Bahamian island of New Providence, the first functioning democracy in the Americas. Not much else is known about the plot, but I’m sure that they all get up to many pirate-y things on their little rogue island. Laurie has yet to accept the role, but either way, I think this show will be something to look out for in the near future.
