The screenwriter for the upcoming Alfred Hitchcock biopic has just been attached to a film about TV’s longest running late night talk show host Johnny Carson.
Based on the non-fiction novel of Carson the Magnificent: An Intimate Portrait, screenwriter John J. McLaughlin has been given the go-ahead from the Carson estate to make the talk shows private and public live subject to a silver screen adaption. The novel the film will be building from was written by the only journalist Carson talked to since his retirement, which really should count for something!
