Origin will soon be getting a bunch of new features. First and foremost, following a recent video game trend, Origin will be offering integrated Twitch streaming. The integrated streaming will make it easier for Origin users to stream their gameplay to their Twitch channels. Instead of using a separate application such as Xsplit to stream games, the game and streaming can all be handled by the same application. Adding some convenience and saving some processing power. Of course it would be a shame if you could only stream games purchased through Origin. Therefore it’s probably a good thing that users will now be able to add non-Origin games to their Origin libraries. Helping keep all those games organized and easily streamed.
Apart from these two major improvements, Origin has promised a good number of small tweaks to make the system run a bit smoother. Does this mean Origin will finally become as good as Steam? No. While these features are convenient and useful, they don’t bridge the quality gap of the two in terms of content delivery. It’s also likely that Valve will add the integrated streaming once they get over their moodiness that they have to add something that wasn’t an original idea.
