Earlier this year, Orchid Seed started releasing Seven Deadly Sins figures, anime girl representations of the seven deadly sins designed by Niθ, who also designed the Samurai Girls characters. Asmodeus and Leviathan, personifications of Lust and Envy respectively, debuted as exclusive mail orders through the magazine Hobby Japan. Now it seems that Orchid Seed and Hobby Japan are taking their partnership one step further and making an anime out of all this.
The Hobby Japan website as well as the Seven Deadly Sins official website announced yesterday that an anime based off of the figures has been green-lit. Hiraku Kaneko, who served as director on Qwaser of the Stigmata, will be returning to that role as well as adapting Niθ’s character designs for the anime. Makoto Uezu, who worked as a writer of Qwaser, will also be returning to that role for the anime and will be overseeing all scripts for the series. REMIC, who did the animation production for Renkin 3-kyuu Magical? Pokahn, will be producing the series.
The website has also made it clear that series will not be adult only, so the whole family can enjoy the sinful demons, who are:
The Sin of Pride, Lucifer
The Sin of Envy, Leviathan
The Sin of Wrath, Satan
The Sin of Sloth, Belphegor
The Sin of Greed, Mammon
The Sin of Gluttony, Beelzebub
The Sin of Lust, Asmodeus
So DeadMan what sin are you.
Probably Sloth.
