When I first saw that Ace Attorney 5, the sixth game in the fantastic DS franchise, would not only be polygonal but also feature full animation I was blown away. Yeah, the original pixel art style and choppy animation were part of why I loved those games, it will be cool to see how it handles this new look. Now the developers are saying there will be voice acting, and I just shit myself in excitement.
In a recent interview with Nintendo Dream (which was summarized by Siliconera), it was confirmed that Ace Attorney 5 would feature voice acting. Not just “Objection!” and “Hold it!” and “Take that!”, but honest to god voice acting. The interview mentioned some other things, like Wright’s character in this new game and the replacement for the magatama, but fuck that shit! VOICE ACTING!
Now some people are probably going to be a little nervous about this. Up until now, the games have had this great blip sound effect that went off whenever someone talked. If the game is voice acted, will that sound be replaced? Well, if you believe Wooster of the Court-Records Forums, then you won’t have anything to worry about. According to him, while the pre-rendered cinematics by BONES will be fully voiced and maybe a few of the in-game scenes, the rest will be old school. He makes the comparison to the Professor Layton series.
I cannot wait for this fucking game!
