Later this year, for those of you lucky enough to possess a PlayStation Plus subscription, the fans of God of War will be able to test God of War: Ascension’s multiplayer combat. The announcement was made earlier this morning. That should be good enough news for devout fans, because it indicates the Ascension development team has been able to realize its potential for online multiplayer combat, and is also considered to be just right. All in all, this is the God of War series, Sony’s front runner of action franchises. With Ascension being the first God of War title to feature online capability, there is a lot of pressure on them to make it perform superbly as it should.
The company is also marketing the beta to the fans with an abundance of dedication on a web-based system on their new God of War website called “Rise of the Warrior.” The multiplayer will grant players different abilities, armor sets, and unlockable powers by having the players select different gods. Additionally they’ll be able to regenerate mana, boost the stats of their team mates, and over time champions will be able to unlock abilities through the gaining of experience.
