Good lord there are a lot of collection games. Is this just a mandatory thing that game companies have to do now? Is this a sign of the end times? I always thought the reason for collections was to either introduce some people to a series that they missed from the previous console generation or let the people who did play those games play slightly better looking versions of them. But then you get something like inFamous, where all the games came out on the same platform and are still readily available on the same platform. Now they’re doing it with Mass Effect, too.
EA and BioWare have announced that they are going to be packaging all three Mass Effect games together and re-releasing them on Xbox 360, PC, and PS3. Now PS3 players will be able to play the broken wonder that is the first Mass Effect game. Well, eventually they will.
The collection is going to be coming to the 360 and PC on November 6th, the PS3 version will be coming “at a later date.” But, when the collection does finally come out, people who still have Mass Effect 2 and 3 and don’t want to buy them again will still be able to play the original. The first game is also being released on the PSN as a standalone download.
So you’ll be able to get all three games in one package, but how much is it going to cost, I hear you ask. Well, you’ll be able to get the Mass Effect trilogy in its entirety for the low, low price of $59.99. That actually is a really good deal.
