I have made it no secret that I am a huge fan of NisiOisiN’s work. So the news that we would be getting more of it had me nearly catatonic with joy. In his Tsukimonogatari, which gets released this week, there is a flyer stating that Nekomonogatari (Black) would have a premiere screening “before the TV broadcast.” The Nekomonogatari (Black) novel takes place between Kizumonogatari (a sort of prequel to the series) and Bakemonogatari (which has an anime of it’s own that you should watch). It follows Koyomi Araragi’s efforts to solve the supernatural problems facing Tsubasa Hanekawa, events that are only referenced in the currently released anime.
The novels that the anime is based on is slated to be 12 volumes in length with the final three originally being set for release this year, although , thus far, Tsukimonogatari is the only one that is scheduled.
