Layton Brothers: Mystery Room Coming to iOS September 21

Turns out the iOS Professor Layton spinoff, Layton Brothers: Mystery Room, is coming to iOS much sooner than we thought! The game stars Alphendi Layton, the son of the incredible Professor, who works as a detective for Scotland Yard’s top investigative unit. Along side him, a rookie investigator Lucy Creila. You’ll be able to download the game off the Japanese App store on the 21st of this month! The game will be 800 yen for a limited time to commemorate it’s release, while the normal price will revert to 1,200 yen. This includes five chapters, with more planned coming in the future.

The gameplay in Layton Brothers focuses largely on solving crime-related puzzles. From a list of crime reports, inspecting evidence and interviewing suspects, players choose which trademark Layton-style logic crime puzzles to solve. Many details remain clouded, such as why the game is called Layton Brothers when the star is only the son of Hershel Layton.
