Last year, David E. Kelley shot a pilot for a Wonder Woman series he was making for NBC. They didn’t like it and the project was scrapped. But since then some things have happened to Wonder Woman, like being rebooted as the daughter of Zeus and hooking up with Superman. So the CW has decided to take a swing at the Princess of Themyscira, but this time with a twist. Instead of setting the show during her time as a superhero, they’re pulling a Smallville and setting it during her formative years as a hero in training.
Under the working title of Amazon, the script is being written by Allan Heinberg. Heinberg is best known for his work on the shows The Sex and the City, Grey’s Anatomy, and The O.C. But don’t let that get you down. He also wrote Avengers: The Children’s Crusade and the first story arc of the post Infinite Crisis Wonder Woman book, Who is Wonder Woman?, both of which I really enjoyed. So there is some hope. Not very much, but some.
Currently the CW is only developing a script. No pilot has been greenlit.
I really hope the charicater resembles this poster of wonder woman. Wonder Woman was world war two so this new character will probably be her orphan daughter who is a bit wayward and tends to get into fights…confused yet driven by some purpose that runs in her vains. Hoping the shy but lovely and powerfull Gina Carano will get a chance.
All that sounds really cool. But keep in mind this is the CW we’re talking about. So it will probably be about a teenage girl who likes she’s in her late 20s discovering some part of past she didn’t know about then trying to figure out how this will affect her getting the D from many dudes who are willing to do it but won’t because of reasons… Also superpower stuff
