The Hyrule Historia is kind of the big collector’s item for Zelda at the moment. To celebrate the series’ 25th anniversary, Nintendo released a 274 page book, filled with concept art and a bunch of other shit from the world of Zelda, including the official timeline for the entire series. The book was released last December in Japan for 3255 yen, which is about $42, and so far has only been available in Japan in limited quantities. For the non-Japanese Zelda fan, this book has been pretty hard to come by.
Well not for long. Dark Horse Comics has decided to localize the entirety of the Hyrule Historia for release in North America, Australia, the UK and other parts of Europe. Not sure about release dates and pricing for the latter countries, but the book will be coming out in America on January 29th, 2013 for the price of $34.99 US. The book is currently available for pre-order at the price of $20.99 US, so it would probably be best to get your orders in now.
In fact, quite a few people have been getting their pre-orders in now. Since pre-orders opened on August 16th, the book has been sitting in the #1 best seller spot for books, beating out the entire Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy. So there’s that.
