A third Bill & Ted movie seems to building on the horizon. A few months back Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, the creators of Bill & Ted, announced that they had finished a script for the third installment in the series. Now Vulture is reporting that not only are Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter attached to star in it, but the film has a director, too.
Dean Parisot, director of Galaxy Quest, has been attached by Solomon and Matheson to direct their script, which won’t be a remake or a reboot but a proper sequel. It will look at where Theodore Logan and Bill S. Preston, Esq. are today, which I assumed would be working their way up the social power hierarchy to become the society altering superpowers we know they will turn into.
But things aren’t all that great right now at MGM, the company that holds the rights to the Bill & Ted franchise, so they are currently shopping around the project, looking someone to co-finance it with. If they do manage to do that, filming won’t be able to start for a while because Parisot still needs to finish Red 2, which he is directing.
So I guess the only question this leaves is what will the new film be called? Leave your suggestions in the comments below or in the forums.
